Getting Started
Is Jamie Kuhn accepting new clients?
Yes — Jamie is currently accepting new clients. You can schedule online through Headway, call 970-579-7459, or send an email.
What can I expect in my first therapy session?
Your first session is an intake appointment where Jamie gets to know you, your background, and what brings you to therapy. You'll talk about your goals, current challenges, and what you're hoping to get out of the process.
There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with — the first session is about building trust and making sure it feels like a good fit.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Three ways to book:
- Online via Headway (fastest)
- Call 970-579-7459
- Email jamie@jamiekuhntherapy.com
What is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)?
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is a mental health professional with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and state licensure to provide psychotherapy and counseling. LCSWs are trained to diagnose and treat mental health conditions.
In Colorado, licensure requires a master's degree, supervised clinical hours, and passing a licensing exam. Jamie holds her MSW from the University of Denver.
What is the difference between a therapist and a psychiatrist?
A therapist provides talk therapy — helping you explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to improve mental health and wellbeing. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe medication.
Jamie Kuhn is a therapist and does not prescribe medication, but she can coordinate care with your prescribing provider if needed.

Telehealth is a great option if you have a busy schedule, a long commute, mobility challenges, or simply feel more at ease at home.

Animal-assisted therapy incorporates trained therapy animals into the therapeutic process. Jamie holds an Animal Assisted Social Work Certificate from the University of Denver, and her dogs Bexley and Finley serve as co-therapists in some sessions.
The presence of a calm, non-judgmental animal can help clients feel more at ease, reduce anxiety, and open up more naturally — especially for children or those who find traditional talk therapy difficult.
